I close the loop.
I run the research, draw the flows, ship the UI and build the design system, so what we learn from users ends up in the product rather than in a deck.
I’m used to rooms where the stakeholders are many and the priorities compete, from NHS Trusts to government steering committees in the Gulf, and I’m good at turning that into something people can actually use.
I work in Figma every day, prototype with AI tools when words aren’t settling it, and I care about the details, down to the contrast ratio.

Capabilities
Five years across healthcare, enterprise SaaS, identity platforms, and smart city programmes.
I move between strategy, product, and systems as a single practice.
Product & interaction design
I own products end to end, from early discovery through to live deployment: user flows, wireframing, prototyping at every fidelity, and iterative delivery. My strength is holding quality steady as a product scales and velocity climbs, the thinking behind the three-state Design QA Protocol I set on Kayanee, where nothing shipped until it had passed through Working, Shipping, and Sharing.
Design systems & design ops
Token architecture, component libraries, governance models, and contribution frameworks that let distributed teams build in step without a central bottleneck. I led VETUS for Grundfos from visual language strategy through to production, including the operating model that keeps it self-sustaining. To me a system is not a library of parts, it is the way a team designs.
Creative & brand strategy
I translate master plans, brand positions, and commercial goals into frameworks teams can actually act on. From ten Smart City domains for Bahrain Digital City to the tiered product architecture and four-phase launch system for Badael, I work where strategy, visual identity, and hard constraint meet, including regulated and reputation-sensitive categories most designers avoid.
Research & validation
Grounded in cognitive psychology and human-centred technology, so research is native to how I work, not a separate phase. I plan and run usability testing with real users, synthesise what comes back, and turn it into decisions. Direction gets validated rather than assumed, which is how I keep complex, high-stakes builds honest.
Accessibility & inclusive design
WCAG 2.1 AA across everything I ship, plus NHS Design Standards on regulated services. I design inclusively from the first flow rather than bolting it on at the end. In healthcare and identity platforms, accessibility is not a finishing touch, it is the brief.
Collaboration, facilitation & design leadership
Agile delivery alongside product, engineering, and research, and the calm to align stakeholders across technical, commercial, editorial, and regulatory teams. I facilitate cross-functional workshops and have taken deliverables to sign-off at CEO and CTO level. Equally comfortable leading design solo or setting direction for distributed teams.
AI-assisted design
For over a year I have built LLM tools into my daily practice across research synthesis, documentation, and rapid exploration. Not a novelty but an edge: it compresses the distance from open question to validated direction, and frees more of my time for the judgement and craft that actually move a product.

Design and prototyping: Figma (daily), FigJam, Axure RP, ProtoPie, Adobe Creative Suite. Collaboration and delivery: Miro, Jira, Confluence, Notion.

I move from a boardroom steering committee to shipped pixels to the governance model that scales them.
Start with the people, not the brief
Before I design anything I spend time with the people who’ll use it. Interviews, a few hours in their context, a focus group if the question is bigger than one screen. It’s cheaper to be wrong in week one than in release three.Translating master plans, brand positions, and business goals into frameworks teams can act on, from smart city domains to launch nomenclature systems.
Decide with evidence, move with intuition
Five years in have given me instincts I trust, but instincts open the question and evidence closes it. I test early, I measure what I can, and I’m honest when a finding changes the plan.End-to-end delivery: discovery, user flows, prototyping at every fidelity, usability testing, and production-ready interfaces people can actually use.
Build it so it outlasts the project
Good design that lives only in my Figma file isn’t finished. I build systems, tokens, components and documentation, so the team keeps shipping consistently after I’ve gone, and I stay close to engineering until what shipped matches what we agreed.Token architecture, component libraries, and governance that let distributed teams build consistently without bottlenecks.
